Unfortunately, both these versions of Wine DO attempt to display this hidden form, and they display it as a modal dialog without any controls on it, effectively stopping the program dead. Not sure if this is related, but suddenly the splash screens in all my apps are showing a title bar and corner 'X' widget, when they're actually designed without either. The Office '97 setup program says it exited unsuccessfully, but Wine itself claims a successful exit.
