Confirming. Just before a lot of excceptions are thrown and the application
crashes there 's this in a +relay,+seh trace:

etc.
So maybe you need to install that Microsoft Data Access Components 2.1 (or ad a
key?). Just a wild guess :)

I have tried using a number of DLLs taken from the system32 folder on my windows
partition, such as dpnet.dll, but it still did not work.

With clean wine install - again, from FreeBSD ports - the result is the same.
Also, the msvcrt.dll fix that was suggested (many times) has no effect. Since I
originally posted this report I have upgraded to FreeBSD 6 - source up and
rebuild - but, alas, no change. It is a very consistent bug :)
I am still attempting different methods to circumvent or expose the bug. I've
tried all (reasonable) suggestions and I welcome more. You may send me a private
email if you like. Either way, if a solution is found I will make sure it is
clearly posted here.

Summary: Trainz 1.3 and TRS2004 cannot be run in OpenGL mode
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.3.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: wine-x11driver
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: tanarrifujitsu(a)optusnet.com.au
Trainz 1.3 and TRS2004 both fail on startup with the same error, when in OpenGL
mode. The error is thus:
"X Error of failed request: GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest
Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 17 (X_GLXVendorPrivateWithReply)
Serial number of failed request: 144
Current serial number in output stream: 144"
I have a Radeon 7000. Not really good, I know, however it worked fine in 0.9.2.
Simply uninstalling 0.9.3 and installing 0.9.2 makes it work fine.

That error was generated after allowing the installer to initialize the
application using wine after installation. Running the application manually
provides the same output.
