Summary: deadlock in gdiobj.c: GDI_level
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.25.
Platform: PC
URL: http://www.digitalpublishing.de/sprachen/ISR/isr-set.htm
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-binary
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: mail(a)apexo.de
Well, when running the program (Interaktive Sprachreise EspaƱol, Version 7,
Digital Publishing) I get a deadlock (and a warning before: "Expect deadlock!") ...
Well, trace attached. Any help on how to debug this would be appreciated.
Running with +syslevel,+gdi gives a very long log and I wonder whether there is
a simpler way, than digging through GBs of messages ...

Looks like the patch didn't make it into wine-0.9.25 as I still get the page
fault with this version...

I wonder, if this "bug" still is relevant. It was posted ages ago, the Wine Wiki
page http://wiki.winehq.org/Developers-Hints has been updated lately, and to me
those instructions concerning implementation of DLLs available seem fine. (I'm
not a programming guru, but I'm pretty confident I could create a simple DLL on
basis of those instructions.) Those DLL instructions are referring to GIT even,
which must have been added recently, as I understand Wine hasn't been using GIT
for long yet.
So, to my understanding those instructions are up-to-date now, and this old bug
has been fixed. Just my 5 cents...

Tested with 0.9.25 and the bug is still there. Looks like the problematic
patch is still included...

It took some time before I understood what James Hawkins meant with "wiping out
.wine", because there was no reference to home directory. Now I did remove that
directory, but it caused no change. It only took a while longer for the test to
start, but the result was just the same. It hangs when getting to test
advpack:install.
