Invalid. We don't support ies4linux. You can try again using a fresh .wine
with no native dll overrides if you'd like.

Do NOT Paste logs and back traces.
Please submit an entry for this application in the AppDB http://appdb.winehq.org/
Distributor for this software was Topics Entertainment but it is no longer
listed as one of its products so I assume this is fairly old software. Have you
tried setting the version setting to windows 3.1 in winecfg.

We go to some trouble to not hold fds on removeable media. Wine does chdir("/")
when initializing a process, so that we don't keep the current directory open,
and when mapping an exe, a copy of the exe is created first.
Perhaps the process is opening its own exe for some reason?

Call of Duty's installer starts well, but
when it asks you to switch disks, you're SOL
because its setup.exe runs straight off the
CD-ROM, and doesn't let go of the directory.
This appears to be a Wise installer.
ps shows

open to the cdrom. But find /proc | grep cdrom shows

/proc/5466/fd/25 -> /media/cdrom0/Setup.exe

Why is wineserver holding that fd open?

Summary: Shockwave under ies4linux (ie6) causes crash at the
shockwave q3 demo

When I go to the following web page:
http://necromanthus.com/Games/ShockWave/quake3.html
using ie6 installed by the ies4linux script, first it installs shockwave and
restarts ie6, this works perfectly. Then it starts loading the shockwave quake 3
demo and it crashes here:

He was talking about WoW's use of OpenGL. There is a slight difference. He
didn't say you should use D3D -- you made that choice. The reason why everyone
says you should use OpenGL is because OpenGL is already an actual native
graphics system (minus wgl) and that our D3D essentially wraps back to OpenGL.
You are creating more overhead and possibly encountering more bugs that way by
using D3D.
One last statement: you're not going anywhere because of your attitude. I've
never seen anyone here before over the past four years plainly ignoring any
suggestions presented. The logs are useless, and conflicting, so that no one
really knows what the true problem is. You need to research it and narrow
something down using the various debug channels. And you only call it a joke. So
you're not going to get anything back from us.
