TomTom Home works surprisingly well under Wine (detects the device and needed
updates) but after downloading the updates from Internet, it doesn't find the
files that it stored in a temporary directory altough the files exists...
This is with current GIT and a clean .wine.
The error message is "can't find .cab file"
I'll attache a +file,+path log that shows what happen with the files.
When the message is shown in the application if you search for these files, they
are found in the correct directory (the files are Ephemeris.cab and
connect2internet11.cab).
jernst@jernst-desktop:~$ find ~/.wine -name *.cab
/home/jernst/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/InstallShield Installation
Information/{CE325D55-FCAF-4273-BB79-069BB8747270}/data1.cab

/home/jernst/.wine/drive_c/windows/temp/VDEG200611151154340/connect2internet11.cab
Searching for "VDEG200611151154340" in the following log might help finding the
cause of the problem.

I contacted Ingo just 5 minutes ago. I hope he will also look at it.

Great! Glad that it's working now. Perhaps you should bring this problem to
Ingo's attention.

SUCCESS!! I just verified that your patch makes NxView to run with vanilla
2.6.18. My problem was that normally I'm using Ingo Molnar's exec-shield
patch, which causes troubles EVEN when it's disabled with echo 0
>/proc/sys/kernel/exec-shield. Now I patched it totally off and finally it
seems that i can run the program. It looks that current exec-shield patch
causes that kernel ignores the execstack marking. It was on x86_64; I will
check i386 platform later.

Are you using x86-64 or just x86?
I see the "fixme:seh:check_no_exec" without my patch.
