I think this game would work if we could fool the detection library into thinking we have DirectX 9.0c installed. I think the problem has to do with the game looking for the Nvidia Control Panel . Will try installing the nvidia control panel next and see what happens. The real problem is that snes9x does the following. Item.mask=LVIF_TEXT => Assertion fails. But the application should not be allowed to change the mask in the first place. The application should only change the text-related values of the item. If it does mis-behave, wine should not copy this over. This is also the case for Photoshop CS. I didn't test any earlier versions of wine however.
