------- Additional Comments From dh(a)triple-media.com 2006-22-06 17:53 -------
I see at the screenshot that you got it running. I didn't. Now I get a new
dialog while installation telling me that Drakan has some trouble with older
drivers. This dialog I knew from Windows but not from Linux/Wine until tonight.
After that the setup only supports HAL as the graphics interface. Sound is fully
deactivated. When I start Drakan I get a dark, black screen and that's it. I
turned off all the extra 3D-settings but without effect. Then I started Adobe
5.0 for a test and it works perfectly (thousand times faster than evince on (the
most elitist preAlpha-Desktop) Gnome 2.12). I got a lot of messages that I
append here.
Btw: I use linux 2.6.17 on a Sempron +2800, Wine 0.9.16, X 7.0.1, and Mesa6.4
with dri on an ATI9250 graphics card (no SE version).

Remove winearts.drv.so and try again. If it still crash, then it's not a dup
(which I really doubt).

Summary: Page fault in dwarf continously loops in debugger
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
URL: http://arcelectronicsinc.com/testinfo/kpnl1tester.zip
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-debug
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: pgr(a)arcelectronicsinc.com
Fixes to dbghelp dwarf parsing introduced a new problem.
Regression testing points to this patch triggering the problem.
http://source.winehq.org/git/?p=wine.git;a=commit;h=cca3d1ad0c638cf1d0585ad…
While parsing debug info processing a page fault on a 16 bit app an access
causes a page fault and the debugger is started again in a loop.
The zip has info on how to duplicate this problem.

The install doesn't crash anymore, but we're hitting an unhandled case in

err:msi:ITERATE_Actions Execution halted, action L"CheckFileAssociations"
returned 1603
So it's looking to see if MS Office is installed so it can set up file
associations. We need to implement this feature for the installer to proceed.
This is not the same bug as 2547, which uses type 1.
