I ask in the irc what to do when I got no backtrace. One suggestion was to use winedbg instead of wine. Additionally, Vitaliy's patch here: http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2006-July/028949.html does indeed fix this bug, as it suggests.
