Summary: Command and Conquer Generals (Zero Hour) doesn't draw
ground textures (possible shader issue)
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-d3d
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ben(a)atomnet.co.uk
The ground in the game stays a particular colour rather than being the texture
it should be (I have a feeling this is a shader related issue). i.e. the island
in the intro the ground is just white (with light effects still added) and
starting another skirmish map where the ground should also be desert it starts
out white then changes to an off shade of pale green. All units and buildings
etc are textured fine. The build menu items are slightly off though, they should
be greyed out when not buildable but instead they turn black and white (as if
someone has tried to fax them).

Summary: Command and Conquer Generals (Zero Hour) doesn't let you
use the keyboard if WINE is in full screen mode
Product: Wine

Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org

As per title, the keyboard is entirely unresponsive the entire time (although
the mouse works...) I had to ctrl+alt+f1 to a terminal and kill the game due to
not being able to hit escape to get out of it.

Well I just tested it in wine with 8bit Color - Depth. The game starts and is
fully playable except, that there are some wild color distortions. My guess is
that the X11 - Palette doesn't match the Windows Palette. But as Louis hack
suggests, the game also works in higher color depths.
Note that I did test in Managed Mode and not with a virtual Desktop, as Louis
did.

Then try starting this game with X set to 8-bit color. Se if that will work.
Also I'm not sure if you tried or not a "virtual-desktop" mode? If not then try
enabling it from winecfg.

winecfg shouldn't crash because it doesn't use OpenGL. Right? Carlos, could you
please get the full crash dump using winedbg instead of wine? Otherwise we
cannot really help you because we don't know where it's crashing.
