Did you also try to run with native msvcrt.dll? See if it makes any difference

Summary: starting win32-version of tomcat fails with a "jvm_bind"
or "java.util.TimeZone.getTimeZone" error message
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.27.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-console
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: privet56(a)hotmail.com
the command
wine "jre\bin\java.exe" -Xss2m -Xmx133M -
Djava.endorsed.dirs="tomcat\common\endorsed" -
classpath "jre\lib\tools.jar;tomcat\bin\bootstrap.jar" -
Dcatalina.base="tomcat" -Dcatalina.home="tomcat" -Djava.io.tmpdir="tmp"
org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap start
tries to start a win32-verion of JRE (Java Runtime Environment version 1.4/1.5
or 1.6) and a win32-version of Apache TomCat (version 5.5).
This Command works on a windows-System (without calling wine).
Under WINE tomcat throws two error messages:
1. JVM_Bind-Error: Address already in use (message is incorrect, port is not
used!) (with JRE 1.4 or 1.6!)
2. java.util.TimeZone.getTimeZone error message (only with JRE 1.5!)
Operating System: SUSE Linux 10.1
with newest WINE (wine-0.9.27-SuSELinux102.i586.rpm) and WINETOOLS (winetools-
0.9-3jo.i386.rpm).
How to make it:
1. create a new empty directory
2. copy a win32-version of JRE (or JDK with JRE) in the subdirectory "jre"
3. copy a win32-version of tomcat in the subdir "tomcat"
4. create an empty subdir "temp"
5. call the command line specified before...
A solution for the problem were nice...!?

I can't figure out what exactly is the purpose of this code , so I can't fix it.

Still appears to exists in wine-0.9.28.
However while playing with this today, I have found that unchecking the
Graphics->"Allow the window manager to control the windows" in winecfg seems to
work around the problem, so I am now running QW.EXE with this setting unchecked.
I'm running Quicken 2002 Deluxe, under Ubuntu 6.06. Wine version 0.9.28 packages
from http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt.

I would like to see this DLL implemented, too.
Lack of it prevents me from using a program to convert maps for use with my

Summary: Simcity 3000 has partial, grainy, B&W video, and crashes

When trying to run Simcity 3000, I would run wine SC3.EXE , a window would come
up for where the game would be displayed, I'd say an 800x600 box, the intro
shows up really grainy, and compressed into the left side of about a third of
the size of the 800x600 display box. I then go to click, to focus on the window
trying to see what options I have to fix the resolution of the game, it then
crashes with a box popping up saying "??? Exceptional Error". Then I can't do
anything more. Looking at my console I see the following:

I have no clue what it means, but I see it saying it can't handle this and that.
How can I correct this issue? I'm running an x86 based Debian[Etch] system with
a 2.6.17 kernel with nvidia driver support installed. Oh and I installed this
from source, I originally tried 0.9.28 with less success, downgrading to 0.9.15
actually got me closer to playing the game(i know have partial video)...I'm
almost there, help...please :)

I have seen something similar: only, the environment does not go
black---instead, it reverts to a much earlier state. That is, one could walk
through a door, and then press a button---but the video of the button being
pressed would play against the background of the room that one was in before
walking through the door.
Very disappointing, for a game which is rated Gold...
Tried this using both wine 0.9.28 and wine 0.9.22, got the same behaviour.

An Update:
Paf creates a combo (not comboex), which creates a sub edit/list.
Afterwards, Paf creates a richedit20 with the parent of the combo, so it goes on
top of the previous edit.
So there's some interaction going on between those windows.
And oddly, the first edit control's parent was changed to the parent of the
combo, but no SetParent() call did that.
Which might explain why some EN_CHANGE notifications don't get filtered out by
the code in combo.c.

This is a Steam bug, not Wine. You need to delete the ClientRegistry.blob file
from your C:\Program Files\Steam\ directory (or wherever it's installed) and
restart Steam.
