I'm afraid yes, I get exactly the same output as my last report.
wine --version
wine-1.1.10

With wine-1.1.10, the latest Web.de-Messenger still does not work. The error is
a different one though, probably due to a different version of the program. An
error is displayed, but the error window is not even completely drawn before it
crashes
The console error log is not long:
fixme:wininet:InternetSetOptionW Option
INTERNET_OPTION_MAX_CONNS_PER_1_0_SERVER (10): STUB

I added the mentioned dll - it just made that message disappear, anything else
was still the same.

For what it's worth, "sudo aptitude remove wine" got me further, but then it
died during setup with an "Error while parsing command line arguments or
reading setup.ini (0x80004002) [OK]" error dialog box. If anyone wants to take
over with this regression test then please go for it, because this is way too
painful and time-consuming for me to want to proceed with further, so I'll STFU
now.

Yes.
$ dpkg-query -s wine | grep Version
Version: 1.1.10~winehq0~ubuntu~8.10-0ubuntu1
(WineHQ version running in Ubuntu 8.10, "Intrepid Ibex"; tested against both
GREEN32.EXE and ABC32.EXE)

Almost! Here's the current recipe:
rm -rf .wine
winecfg (and select win2000 mode)
sudo cp -a /mnt/cdrom/ gp
sudo chmod 755 -R gp
cd gp
wine setup
This gets a lot further, but crashes with a dialog box
"Fatal engine execution error"; wine says
wine: Call from 0x7edf96b0 to unimplemented function
gdiplus.dll.GdipGetNearestColor, aborting
wine: Call from 0x7edf96b0 to unimplemented function
gdiplus.dll.GdipGetNearestColor, aborting
fixme:gdiplus:GdipEndContainer (0x1976c0, 0xdeadbeef)
fixme:gdiplus:GdipSetImageAttributesColorKeys not implemented
Unhandled Exception: StackOverflowException.
'winetricks gdiplus' gets it a bit further, so
that makes this a gdiplus bug for the moment.

Bugzilla is not a discussion forum, please keep the comments strictly related
to the bug report.
Nick: if you need help with the regression testing process, you should bring it
up on the forum http://forum.winehq.org or irc, the bug report is not a good
place for support.
The preloader message is answered in the FAQ:
http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-f008d57967dd5f8aa3f374c27540c1b5f4815947 and
the other error message you're getting is because a different version of Wine
is already running, you need to make sure that Wine exits between the tests.
