There used to be a panel on the website where you could vote for the top 3
applications that you wanted improved. However even though there are still
vote stats and instructions you can't vote on anything.

After entering bug # and clicking "Submit a new bug link" I'm getting a blank
page. When I go back in browser to the original page I'm seeing the correct
page reporting that link was submitted, e-mails sent, etc.

Summary: Call of Cthulhu: Slow and jerky mouse movement
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.58.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dinput
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: vkojouharov(a)gmail.com
In Call of Cthulhu (
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=3981 ), the
mouse movement in the main (or any other) menu, as well as the inventory
system, is extremely slow and jerky. When moving the mouse, the cursor will not
move, but after a second or two, will teleport somewhere in the intended
directory.
This is actually a regerssion. Prior to 0.9.56, the mouse was slow, but with
0.9.56, the problem was fixed. With 0.9.57 however, the problem was
resurrected, and it is still present in 0.9.58.
p.s. This is not related to the same bug, but I don't know whether I should
file a new bug for this. The same game is at least twice as slow, as compared
to Vista. Furthermore, the texture on the skybox looks like an extremely
compressed jpeg picture of a sky, with only a few colors (in windows, the
skybox looks fine).

Terse output of wine.
Frequent in-game crashes with no criteria required to reproduce other than
logging into the game and "standing around".
The only required factor is patience. The first crash typically occurs
30-minutes into a session, with the second 15-20 minutes after restarting, with
gradually increasing frequency.
Eventually, crashes will occur within seconds or minutes of each other, and by
this threshold frequently cause the X server to crash.
I have tested various NVidia driver versions, and two AMD64 systems with the
same video card on two different distributions (Ubuntu Gutsy/Hardy x86_64
hybrid, and Sabayon 3.5 x86_64 fresh) as well as older versions of wine (0.9.6
and up) up to and including 1.1.0.
Although I suspect this is an NVidia driver issue related to this card, I have
read similar reports of World of Warcraft itself crashing on the Win32 platform
with newer generation hardware as well, and as such am reporting this bug to
Nvidia, Wine, and Blizzard.
Attached is the wine output in text format.
When crashing, a memory violation error window is displayed as well as the
Blizzard bug report feedback window.

Call of duty 4 with 3D Mark patch only (+d3d trace)
After applying the 3D Mark patch (see bug 9210) the game will start to load and
crash before entering the menu.
In 1.0 rc3 I was possible to ear sound while having a black screen or a message
box displaying :
DirectX encountered an unrecoverable error.
Check the readme for possible solutions.
With 1.0 rc4 the game just segfault right after the splash screen.
I have an nvidia geforce 9600gt with the driver 173.14.05 and is performing
well with other 3D games in wine.
I made some test, changing the offscreen rendering method and the video memory
size without any change in the result.
I'm attaching a trace with +d3d with the 3D Mark patch only and another one
with applying also the NVidia patch.
Patches are linked on the appdb page :
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=10429
This problem has been discussed on the forum here :
http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=1165
Specs:
NVidia Geforce 9600gt - driver 173.14.05
Athlon x64
Ubuntu 8.04 32bits
