Summary: [S.T.A.L.K.E.R] Bug with -dsound (blocking device?)
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.6.
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dsound
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: ggrabler(a)gmail.com
I'm experiencing problems with patch 1.0006 and the -dsound option.
Following strange thing occurs:
-> I'm using kde4
-> Wine is configured to use ALSA
-> esound (esd) disabled
-> starting stalker with -dsound option
-> First movie plays sound
-> 2nd movie plays no sound
-> no sound in the menu
-> adding -nointro
-> sound in the menu
-> when starting a new game, the sound seems to "lock up", not continueing
playing / starting to loop the past 1-2 secs
-> I'm getting the following error (after the sound locked up):
err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x1ad3f60 "?" wait timed out in
thread 001b, blocked by 0009, retrying (60 sec)
Seems as if my output device got blocked - allthough, it's playing the OLD
sound (of the menu) and blocks the device with this.
Some time later, the sound stops, and another few secs later the error above
occurs.

With time it becomes very hard to track down to which Wine snapshot the bug
belongs. CVS/GIT tag is confusing, see for instance the bug 12358.

Summary: window focus error on applications written by Delphi
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: PC-x86-64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: comdlg32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: naclx(a)vip.sina.com
When Delphi controls call GetOpenFileName() in comdlg32.dll, the member
"hwndOwner" in the paramter "ofn" is specified to point to the handle of the
window on the toolbar, not the one of the main window as usual.
Therefore, there will be two abnormal phenomena:
1. If choose the "Allow the window manager to control the windows" option in
winecfg, foreground windows in some applications written by Delphi will be
hidden behind the background ones.
2. If not choose the "Allow the window manager to control the windows" option,
no application windows will be shown on the toolbar.

When I try to run Adobe Flash CS3 Professional, it fails to start up. You get
to see the start up screen, where it looks like it's loading things, but when
you get to the "Building Workspace..." phase, Wine Desktop just quits.
It used to run in I believe Wine 1.0-RC4, but menu's were all screwed up and
you couldn't work with it.
If someone could get this fixed, that would really help me out.
You're doing a great job team Wine, keep it up!

Summary: handling trailing space in .reg files
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.56.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P2
Component: programs
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: hoehle(a)users.sourceforge.net
Hi,
I wonder whether it's too much to ask to be bug-compatible with MS-Windows.
The attached .reg file contains several trailing spaces.
Actually, there are 2 issues here:
1. wine regedit wineregbug.reg yields an error.
regedit: ERROR, invalid hex value
regedit: ERROR Key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WineRegBugSpace\FooBar not
created. Value: Language, Data: dword:00000001
Caused by trailing space after "Language"=dword:00000001
2. "SaveDir"="\" " is created in user.reg where ="" is expected, disregarding
the trailing space.
The same file, ran through regedit on MS-Windows 95 causes no error, and the
entries are created as expected, esp. "SaveDir"="".
I'm sorry that I did not write in my notes which application had such a .reg
file which caused me to observe and investigate these behaviours.

Summary: Static sound effects with Syberia 2
Product: Wine
Version: 0.9.57.
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: P2
Component: directx-dsound
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: daniel.skorka(a)stud.uni-karlsruhe.de
In Syberia 2, every sound effect is accompanied by a kind of soft scratching
noise (similar to a grammophone record that has been played many times). If no
sound is playing, there is no noise. Other apps with dsound work fine. Syberia
2 in Windows XP works fine. I tried playing with the settings in the audio tab
of winecfg, which didn't change anything.
I use ALSA.

Version: 1.1.3
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: opengl
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: inverse(a)email.it
There is a graphical problem with an effects of the beta client of wow...
The problems is present only if opengl engine is used, with d3d engine this
problem is not present.
Some area of the game and some quest of Death Knight starting area are affected
of this problem, this graphical effect create a sort of mist around the screen,
and use a sort of blur, with opengl all those effects make the screen all white
or all black, only menu are visible and game stil go without crashing.
I tried it with 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 version of wine. The only workaround is to use
an old version of wine (0.9.46)
