Thanks a lot for that link! However, the patch (I chose the right language)
does not apply, it gives some error 36.

I'm also surprised...The complexity of adding theming integration seems like a
piece of cake, compared to WINE's core function (which is truly complex).

Thanks for the quick help! Unfortunately, this did not work. I tried Xephyr,
and when running the game within it, I get:
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateBitmap Trying to make bitmap with planes=1, bpp=32
err:x11drv:X11DRV_CreateBitmap Trying to make bitmap with planes=1, bpp=32
X Error of failed request: GLXBadDrawable
Major opcode of failed request: 150 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 407
Current serial number in output stream: 407
While the Xephyr window shows the infamous "??? Unknown Exception" again -
without even starting to play the music. Doing the same in my main X session
(24bit), I hear at least some music before I get that error. However, if I set
my full X session to 16bit, the game starts fine (I just tested loading some
pre-existing city which worked). So for some reason wine still tries to
allocate 32bit-bitmaps if it is run in 16bit-Xephyr, but not if it is run in a
full 16bit X-server.
Is this still the right bug (which should be re-opened then), or should I open
a new one?

Just out of curiosity -- why can't it? It's not like Wine can't access the user
interface -- it uses the tray, for one. And, I assume, as all settings on Linux
usually do, the color scheme in use should be written in some plain text file
-- can't Wine access the file system? Of course it can. So I'm at a loss.
Anyway, I'd think on Linux it would be easier to code a GTK+/Qt app than to
re-implement Windows API, as Wine does, so I don't see the complexity of
writing a simple helper application which would pass on the colors to Wine.
Please don't think I'm criticizing the people doing the amazing work developing
Wine -- as I have said, I understand the complexity of the task the program
aims to accomplish. I'm just very surprised such a simple thing as probing the
colors is regarded as a complicated task.

(In reply to comment #13)
> Can't at least colors adjust automatically? Is it that hard to do?
Yes, that would need to be an external application written in c++ for QT/GTK.
Wine itself won't be able to do it.

I had just installed Opensuse 11.2 shipped with wine 1.1.33 and i installed it
with dvd version x86_64 (i have an Intel dual core with 4gb of ram).
When i ran winecfg, it create the .wine directory and then it says that it
couldn't extract install_cab, and it couldn't install gecko too.
I tried to use wine-doors, it fails too (unable to download and install some
applications).
the exact text is below :
christophe@zgcportable:~> winecfg
wine: created the configuration directory '/home/christophe/.wine'
err:mshtml:install_cab Could not extract package: 80070002
Could not load wine-gecko. HTML rendering will be disabled.
wine: configuration in '/home/christophe/.wine' has been updated.
I needed wine to install Ie7 (for testing my intranet site) but it seems not
working on Opensuse 11.2.
