Huw has been quite busy and Max's patch, as noble as it is, should no longer
apply nor be used. There may be portions that may work, still, but that is
much work. I applaud Huw for staying with this effort and his continuous
'grinding' at building a functional DIB engine. I also applaud Max for staying
with this as well.

> Won't patch to source for Wine 1.3.21
Please see http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-patches/2011-April/100557.html
. An engine written by Huw Davies has been under development in the main WINE
tree since April. I don't know if Max's engine is still necessary; you may want
to test with the latest WINE and roll back to the last known good version of
this patch, since I don't know if the conflicting engines would cause problems
or not.
I was quite surprised to see so little information divulged about such a major
step for WINE. As we know from this bug, a DIB engine has been one of the most
requested and longest-standing bugs in WINE, so for it to be merged essentially
without commentary is a bit funny. I'd like to get perspectives from Max and
others on the subject and on the engine that's being merged now if they have a
minute.

Won't patch to source for Wine 1.3.21
Fails at
dib-engine-0003-fork-ddb-dib-behavi.patch
With loads of errors.
I'm not fantastic at this, and I'd really appreciate it if somebody that could
get this compiled could upload a deb or update the instructions for how to
patch and compile it.
Though only if it's not a bother, I'm not demanding anything. Winedib enabled
in registry no longer works.

Summary: Mouse Jumps Around
Product: Wine
Version: 1.3.20
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: luisalvaradox(a)gmail.com
This is a general problem with the mouse. In several games and apps the mouse
is jumping around when moved. Does not matter how much you move it, it will
jump to the left and up.
It is not so bad with 2D apps, but with 3D apps like games that use the mouse
to point & click, point & navigate, point & drag, or just to move the mouse to
mark where you want to see or head to, it is a very bad problem.
The following tested games have this issue:
Shadowgrounds
Shadowgrounds Survivors
Revenge of the Titans
Counter Strike Source
Half Life 2 + Expansions
Left4Dead + Expansions
Left4Dead2 + Expansions
Quake 3
Hitman 3
Hitman Blood money
Penumbra + Expansions
Amnesia
Call of Duty 2
Call of Duty 3
Call of Duty 4
I have to add that the jumpy problem does not happen in the menu of the game.
It happens when you go inside the world of the game. When the 3D world for it
appears. An example is Hitman, in the menu the mouse works perfect. When i go
inside a world the problem starts. Same for Call of Duty, Penumbra, L4D, etc..
This are the games i tested since this are the ones i have access to.
