It freezes shortly after launch, during the Now Loading screen. Note that because it is (still) required for this program, I am using a native d3dx9_36.dll. The bug can be reproduced with any older versions of the game (v1.4-v1.8). The current v1.91 version of the game is free from the problem and mouse works in the menu. The equation editor is accessed via Insert=>Object=>Microsoft Equation 3.0. Both the equation editor and the equation toolbar work fine in 1.4-rc1, as they have since this bug was fixed. You probably caused your own problem by installing unnecessary overrides. Reinstall in a clean wineprefix using plain Wine following the instructions in the AppDB, and if you still have problems, ask for help on the forum.
