SoulSeek crashes at startup. Error messages from terminal are pasted below.
Problem occurs consistently ever since I installed Wine 1.5.20. Never had any
such problems before with previous versions of Wine. Recompiled Wine to make
sure I'm using the latest ports/sources but problem remained. I'm used to
seeing a few minor errors in the terminal but the errors below are clearly more
severe...

Summary: Dungeon Keeper 2 with hardware acceleration patch (GOG

terminal output
Just like for Soulbringer (see bug #30745), GOG made an in-house patch for
Dungeon Keeper 2 too. The patch makes hardware acceleration available in the
game, fixes stability issues and allows to play the game in higher resolutions.
The patched version seems to work fine in Windows (according to the forum posts
on GOG), unfortunately it crashes in Wine (somewhere in wined3d).
I see the same crash with Wine 1.2.3, 1.4.1, wine-1.5.9-267-g8f108a0.
The patch installs 2 new files in the game directory: DKII-dx.exe and
patch.dll. When starting the game with DKII-dx.exe, the screen turns black for
a couple of seconds, then Wine crashes.
The 'normal' executables for the game (DKII_SOFT.EXE and DKII.exe) are still
able to start the game.
Please let me know if you need a log with the appropriate debug channels
enabled.
The attached backtrace was created with wine-1.5.9-267-g8f108a0.

error log from trying to run Kult.exe
I've installed Kult Heretic Kingdoms on Wine and applied an upgrade patch, it
won't work with or without the patch. Before this it said mfc42.dll was
missing, so I added it from a windows install and went right ahead trying to
run the game, each and every time I get an unhandled page fault.

Backtrace from a crash
Install Origin, launch, then close and from a terminal launch repeatedly,
alternating between the /Installed and /Installing switches.
it is not the easiest thing to trigger but on my machine it's somewhat
reliable, some cases will crash with unhanded exceptions, others seem to be
handled by origin and it attempts to send crash reports.

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #17195 +++
ok, after a little bit of investigation, i think i understand the pipes code
enough to be able to say what's going on, and i'm seeing something like this:
process 1:
recvpipe = CreateNamedPipe("\\pipe\fred")
ReadFile(recvpipe, buffer, &length);
printf(length) ===> 43
ReadPipe(recvpipe, buffer, &length); /* no data */
process 2:
sendpipe = CreateNamedPipe("\\pipe\fred")
length = 9;
WriteFile(sendpipe, buffer, &length);
length = 34;
WriteFile(sendpipe, buffer, &length);
what's happening is that the data being sent down the pipes isn't being done as
datagrams. the implementation is using a stream-based fd.
the solution is: you _must_ implement a protocol on top of the pipes which
sends the length (as a 32-bit int, whatever) which is read off the fd, followed
by the data stream of _exactly_ that length.
_must_. there's no two ways about this.
the protocol of Pipes is unfortunately a combination of both datagrams and
streams. datagrams because the lengths of data sent are absolute and
inviolate. streams because the data order and reliability are _also_ absolute
and inviolate.
you can't use datagrams (because they're unreliable). you can't expect all
unixen to support datagrams on top of unix sockets (if that's what's being
used).
so - you have to send the length, as part of the implementation of the
pipe-data-send.
sending a length will also solve the issue of trying to send zero-length pipe
datagrams.
as a first implementation, you _might_ be able to get away with assuming that
when someone asks for some data, they _will_ provide a buffer big enough.
... actually... i don't see any ERR_MORE_DATA error codes in NtReadFile, so
that would explain... this is going to get messy :)

Bug #: 33653
Summary: Microsoft Excel 2007 custom sort does not work
Product: Wine
Version: 1.4.1
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown

Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 44544

Excel custom sort on Wine
To reproduce, start Microsoft Excel 2007. Enter in one or more columns of
information (e.g. "a", "b", "c" in A1, A2, and A3 respectively). Then click
"Sort & Filter" (in the Editing section of the Home ribbon) and then "Custom
Sort...". A dialog appears with a table but no menus in the table with which to
choose which columns to sort (or which direction to sort them). Clicking "Add
Level" adds a row to the table but the new row does not have any such menus
either, so it is impossible to do any sorting more complicated than simply "A
to Z" or "Z to A" on an entire selection (at least as far as I can tell.
I've attached a screenshot of the buggy dialog using Wine on Linux. Here's a
screenshot of how it should look on Windows:
