Bug #: 33646
Summary: Need help to remove installed Program - file corrupted
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: arm64
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: soibelrs(a)gmail.com
Classification: Unclassified
Using Q4Wine, I installed Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 from my original
DVD.
During the installation I had several difficulties, had to come back many times
before everything came to place.
- Having evaluated the Program, I decided NOT TO KEEP it.
- Using Add/Remove Programs
See screenshot on
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YEvMvdbdysIgeZNbOza0eaDvTv1v8TJWJOPAjQ-…
The Setup file is corrupted or not available.
I need some help, mMy question now is what can I do to safely remove this
installation?
Note: I checked the original disk, and I also have copy.
The problem is that something went wrong while I was fighting to get
this working.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Supplementary information, which is not relevant to this problem:
Why I decided to remove MS Office Enterprise 2007?
1. WILL NOT READ NOR WRITE, can only use it on the screen.
Clearly the error is on the filing system, MS Office demands Windows style
filing,
clashes with Ubuntu setup.
2. MY ORIGINAL DISK is OUT-OF-DATE from year 2007 my old computer Windows
Vista.
It would need a long update, which is not provided, including many bugs
fixing.

I found an app that depends on this, it looks like it does a socket call
expecting it to fail and then call WSAStartup. The required test is already
commited.

Related (when wine is built with gstreamer support and the workaround in that
bug, some of these games actually work):

Summary: Word 97 needs native oleaut32 to record the first
macro
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: oleaut32
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: dimesio(a)earthlink.net

Console log from first attempt to record a macro without any overrides (results
in failure)
This is a follow-up to bug 11415, which has been fixed for all the 200x
versions of Word, but not entirely for Word 97.
In wine-1.1.35-364-g9dc584d, Word 97 needs native oleaut32 (copied from XP) in
order to record a macro the first time. Once the first macro has been
successfully recorded, however, you can remove the override from winecfg,
delete the native oleaut32.dll from Wine's system32 and restore the fake one,
and Word 97 will continue to be able to record and play macros just fine. (I've
tested this multiple times, with the same results.)
The typelib errors and fixmes in the attached console log are not present in
subsequent runs after the problem has been fixed by the temporary override.
