Summary: high processor usage of Reaper
Product: Wine
Version: unspecified
Platform: x86
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: -unknown
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: gigaday(a)googlemail.com
I guess this isn't really a bug but I thought the feedback could be useful.
Reaper versions 3.xx and 4.xx with Wine 1.2.x and Wine 1.3.x use about 3 times
as much processor power compared to MS Windows running Reaper on an equivalent
processor.
With Reaper doing nothing processor usage is about 11% on Windows and about 36%
with Wine on Ubuntu 11.04 when using a 2GHz processor.

The msi package test produce many failures, when started in the
root directory of a drive. (12 in Wine for me.)
Hans got 192 failures on Windows.
The difference is the backslash at the end of the current directory,
when the current directory is the root of a drive.
package.c:8811: Test failed: Expected "C:\\", got "C:\"
...
package.c:9467: Test failed: Expected "C:\\FileName1", got "C:\FileName1"
I expect more failures in other tests and asked Greg for help with wtb.

Commit [1] from git.git repository seems to want to look into some details in
msvcrt.dll. Failing that will print the said message. Maybe wine msvcrt.dll
could be made compatible to that?

Hi there,
I have been running the program FX_Client.exe from AVAFX
(www.avafx.com/Download-Ava-Trader)
without any problem with wine-1.3.15 on Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS.
Now, right after the login and before starting the connection to the server,
the program crashes.
Attached is the message that appears.
Thanks

Summary: gdi32:font test_fullname2() fails on Windows 7 in the
French locale
Product: Wine
Version: 1.7.12
Hardware: x86
OS: Windows
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: fonts
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: fgouget(a)codeweavers.com
The fg-win7u64-fr VM gets a lot of errors like the following:
http://test.winehq.org/data/tests/gdi32:font.html
font.c:4855: Checking font Arial:
FamilyName: Arial; FaceName: Arial Bold Italic; StyleName: Bold Italic
font.c:4884: no localized FONT_FAMILY found.
font.c:4905: Test failed: font face names don't match: returned Arial Bold
Italic, expect Arial Gras Italique
font.c:4919: Test failed: style names don't match: returned Bold Italic, expect
Gras Italique
font.c:4928: no localized UNIQUE_ID found.
Despite our expectations the style names are clearly not being localized.
Yet that VM is a Windows 7 Ultimate installation where all the locales have
been set to French:
SystemDefaultLCID 40c
UserDefaultLCID 40c
ThreadLocale 40c
UserDefaultUILanguage 40c
ThreadUILanguage 40c
Interestingly there are other French machines where this does not happen:
fg-acer64-w81-t32 A French Windows 8.1 installed on my Acer laptop
fg-win2000-uplast A French Windows 2000 installed in a VMware VM

This is error 5. It's saying something in Wine's socket layer's dropping the
ball.

Since bug #30137 has been fixed I can take photos in the game, using only
built-in d3dx9* dlls, however, photos don't show up in the game photo gallery.
When I open the photo gallery, pictures are surely there, because they're
selectable, but each frame, containing a photo, is empty/blank.
Photos are saved on disk in bmp format, under ~/DepthHunter/Photos directory
and I can open the files with any Linux image viewer.
Native d3dx9_36.dll is a workaround.
Wine doesn't provide anything suspicious in the terminal, so here I'm attaching
a +d3dx debug log.
A demo for Depth Hunter does exist but in-game photo gallery is not available
in the demo.
