Other reports:
- Set VideoMemorySize=1024 (even though my card has 2GB), and lowered texture
quality to Max (not Ultra), and was able to play though several missions
without crashing.
- Lovering texture details from Ultra to Medium seems to help delaying the
crash but not to avoid it.
- is your GPU set to Adaptive or Max Performance? SC2 has issues with dynamic
frequencies, so i switched from Adaptive to Max Performance and that seems to
have helped a lot.
i haven't crashed yet since doing it. hope it holds.

Crash message of "FalloutNV.exe".
FNV crashes reproducibly when playing the ending of the "Old World Blues"

sound, but to no avail.

Mathetrainer is a german educational software. It installs fine on Wine, but
after starting it insists on inserting the original CD in the CD drive although
it is in the drive. A scan of the main executable with a copy protection
scanner reveals
Scanning -> c:\Programme\Klett\Mathetrainer 5\Mathetrainer.exe

[!] Protect DiSC v6.2 - v6.8 (Build 12-07-2005) detected !
[!] exact version: Protect DiSC v6.2.5 !
[!] protection level: Basic
According to
http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware/cdrom/cd_protections_protectcd.shtml this
protection also refered as ProtectCD is a commonly used protection scheme.
Other titles like "Need For Speed" and "Quake 3" make use of this protection
scheme too.
The application Mathetrainer seems to be based on Delphi and flash would
probably run if the copy protection check would succeed on Wine.

Hello Everyone,
Metal Gear Solid 2 movies do not play in wine-1.8.3. This a regression.
wine-1.4.1 is good.
wine-1.6.0 is bad.
BTW: In wine-1.9.12 the movies play fine as well.

Summary: Skyrim Special Edition: NPC dialogue not initiating
Product: Wine

In Skyrim Special Edition, when a player is supposed to interact with an NPC,
nothing happens. The player does not hear any audio, and cut scenes associated
with a given interaction do not play. Furthermore, the NPC's don't move their
mouths is if they are trying to talk.
The issue is best described as if the characters don't know that they're
supposed to do anything. They just sit there and nothing happens.
Unfortunately, this breaks the game, as the player cannot make it through the
opening tutorial.
Please see this video showing what the player is to expect when the opening cut
scene ends: https://youtu.be/p3teMHOfmsg?t=3m37s The player is removed from the
cart, which brings them to the character selection screen.
When running under WINE, the player remains sitting in the cart with the 3
other NPCs, and nothing happens when the cart comes to a stop.
Outside of that, the audio in the game appears to work correctly. Sound effects
such as horses grunting, and the wheels of carts rolling along cobblestone
paths play as they should.
I have attached a log file when the following command was executed in the Steam
directory '$ wine Steam.exe &>log.txt'.
I also have a screenshot showing the cart ride cut scene, where normally player
would hear the stormcloak soldier saying "Hey, you, finally awake...etc":
(Please see https://youtu.be/p3teMHOfmsg?t=43s for an example.) Where in my
screenshot, said soldier just sits there and doesn't say a word.
Tested on:
Wine 3.0
Distro is Solus
AMD FX-8350
AMD R9 280X with the opensource mesa drivers
xaudio2_7 (builtin then native) override in place

Summary: Jack's Attic fails to launch due to lack of virtual
memory
Product: Wine
Version: 2.0-rc2
Hardware: x86
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: kernel32
Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
Reporter: z.figura12(a)gmail.com

Jack's Attic, an old educational game, fails to launch due to a claimed lack of
virtual memory.
The application calls GlobalMemoryStatus, and adds together the reported values
for TotalPageFile and TotalVirtual, then does a signed comparison with 3MB.
However, GlobalMemoryStatus contains code to limit the total virtual memory to
0x7ffdffff, and also contains code to limit the total paged memory to
0x7fffffff *if* the application is detected to be an old binary (just by
comparing version numbers). These, added together, yield 0xfffdfffe, which is
negative and so less than 3MB.
The game works fine on Windows, because the reported virtual memory isn't
limited (and so the addition wraps around and remains positive). This is
Wine-specific code which is included to help other applications work where they
wouldn't on Windows. Unfortunately, it causes this application to fail.
Perhaps a better solution would be to use a registry key?
