A stack overflow occurs in Windows Media Player 7.1 if an audio CD is inserted
while it is running or is present when executed:
wine: Unhandled stack overflow at address 0x7bc553a2 (thread 002f), starting
debugger...
002f:err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow 1328 bytes in thread 002f

The debug window never appears. The overflow doesn't occur with wine-staging
but it still hangs with nothing of note in the log.
Using native wmplayer.exe (bug #44299) and wmvcore.dll (bug #44300).

On the license agreement dialog the EULA appears to be for Ontario (in French)
not USA version in English. I thought originally it was a language detection
problem so I tested with native riched20, riched30 and wine-staging 2.21 but
there was no change in behavior. Does not occur on Win98SE.

Hello,
I've installed “The Magic School Bus Explores the Solar System” on a clean
Win95 32-bit prefix under ArchLinux x86-64.
The game quits after the splash screen appears with a generic error message.
The stdout of wine shows the following:
002f:fixme:mmio:MMIO_InstallIOProc Global procedures not implemented
002f:fixme:mci:MCI_LoadMciDriver Couldn't load driver for type L"AVIVIDEO".
The game installer copies some files to c:\windows\system. The required file
for AVI playback is MCIAVI.DRV.
The problem can be fixed by editing c:\windows\system.ini and replacing the
line
avivideo=mciavi.drv
with
avivideo=mciavi32.dll

The application throws up a bunch of messageboxes: The method is not

Then exits.
native oledb32 _and_ mtxdm works around the bug. Attached is a

Note: I used the trial I installed about half a year ago (I think); there`s a
newer version now available, didn`t test that but I suspect it shows the same
error
