I implemented the program so it waits for ReadFile to return FALSE, that's when the input is supposed to be over: ###### BOOL success = ReadFile(handle, buffer, 4096, &buffer_max, NULL); if (!success) return FALSE; ###### Now that's not right anyways, but it exposes a slight difference in Wine cmd: 1) Following input hangs on Wine, but not on Windows: "echo test | find test" It works on Wine when using "winetricks -q cmd" 2) Following input hangs on both Windows and Wine: "find test < test.txt" Wine's implementation of the pipe | uses the redirect operator < internally. This leads to the pipe working differently on Wine, i.e. blocking ReadFile when it's not supposed to. Also, only allowing the static folder in /tmp opens up a denial-of-service attack against other users. The windows version is available from https://light.co/lumen/windows Besides the Lumen (Beta) software, the installer installs Qt Licensed Software Redistributables and Visual Studio C++ Runtime Redistributables. In order to get the latter to install, I followed a suggestion to use the Windows XP version in winecfg for the installer. This seems to do the trick with the installation. I managed to get the same Foobar2000 configuration as it was on Windows, except for one thing: on Windows, in the "Item details" panel (I use Columns UI), long field values (artist, song title, album name...) were automatically (at least I think automatically) on multiple lines. On Ubuntu, a value too long stays on one single line, so you can't read the whole text. I used the exact same script. Both horizontal and vertical alignment are centered. A screenshot is attached (I wanted to put also a screen of the Windows version without the bug but it looks like I can attach only one file). Foobar2000 version v2.1.2 [x86]. [WINE 6.0.3] Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS I used Foobar2000 version 1.6.6 on Windows 10. Worked also fine on Windows 7. Do not hesitate to ask for missing information (and sorry in advance for that).
