I also verified that this game crashes on master (wine-9.20-143-gff2070b7900). When the app window is maximized again, it covers the black window. After several minimize/unminimize attempts, though, the black rectangle will appear elsewhere on the screen. After that the main window unminimizes at this new place, with its window controls (close box, minimize box, etc.) unresponsive to mouse clicks. There is a problem with rundll32.exe that I was finally able to isolate after lot of trial and error. The problem is on Debian Bookworm that the rundll32.exe process that is started never reaches wWinMain (I put TRACE() at the beginning). I'm attaching the bad trace log from Bookworm and the good trace from Bullseye. A simple workaround for me now is to copy rundll32.exe from Bullseye. Any ideas what to try next? If you take a new game, this feature working quite well.
