Hi Nikolay,
I went ahead and installed mdac27 using winetricks as you suggested and it
worked!  I was doubtful but you were correct.

I successfully ran through a full design touching every part of the
application.
The only part that doesn't work is the OpenGL window which doesn't appear. Note
that this part works fine when I use the distro of wine. I suspect I need to do
something for an X display because wine is in chroot.

Anyway, this bug can be closed :)
