I spent more than one evening trying to find the commit that fixed it, and
while I was able to find the two commits that did the fix for 9.17, it seemed
impossible for me to backport the fixes into 9.0.1.

Since its fixed in 10.0, I've opted to upgrade the wine version instead. So
guess its wontfix then.
