I guess it comes down to how should Wine behave when it is confronted with one
of these restricted filenames?

In the winefile case, navigating to /dir/test. goes up a level, but the trace
shows that it doesn't then refresh the filenames in that upper level. But maybe
the navigation should be blocked altogether (wineserver?) ?
