The error occurred only with the significantly large real-world collection
before the actual import (i.e. >500 albums). I did not count the total number
of photos but the problematic File.xml has >30 MB.

While more RAM is certainly helpful, I could succesfully import test photos in
a virtual machine with only 2 GB RAM after I installed the native msxml4.dll.
