It's better now. The black window seems to be replaced by two floating windows with identical coords, which are placed in the upper left corner of the screen. They are as thin as a titlebar, without any controls on them, and quite small. When a game starts, they appear on top of the game window. And can be closed with Alt+F4 without any issue for SimHub. On Windows these objects are not visible. I'd assume this is part of the SimHub dash functionality, which places custom dash overlays on top of the game screen. I don't use this functionality on Wine, since it makes my GSync monitor run at max frequency all the time.
The part of this bug report about unresponsive controls after a while, seems to have been fixed. It no longer appears.
There is another thing that is probably related to the part of the bug report about unminimizing at a different (wrong) place on the screen. Now the app always unminimizes at the center of the screen, regardless of where the initial position was. This app minimizes/unminimizes to the system tray.
In the attached log, I made two attempts to minimize the main app window at various places of the screen. Both times it unminimized at the center. I also hovered/clicked on the floating windows, and then closed them with Alt+F4.
