I can also reproduce this, also occurs throughout the game whenever the legacy
WMV3 (Windows Media Video 9) videos are used. These are located in the
directory:
FINAL FANTASY XIV Online/game/movie/ffxiv

Worth noting that there is now a free trial for this game that can be used to
reproduce the bug, so no purchase is needed. Recommend  updating the bug title
to something like "FFXIV WMV3 Videos Hang Indefinitely" to make this easier to
find.
