I have the same problem on my laptop with a Radeon X600 Mobility.  Rebooting
doesn't help at all and I have tried changing most of the settings within
winecfg to no avail.  It's accompanied by a really weird lockup where the
desktop dims and white creeps in from the corners of the screen, to get out of
it I have to Ctrl+Alt+Bksp.
