What I do:
----------

- I install the game from the Install/Uninstall tool provided with wine.
- If I patch the game or don't patch it, it make no difference.
- I start the the single player game like this: (like I'd done before)
  - wine WolfSP.exe -opengl
- It crash with several line of text in a Console

I'm not sure that you want all the output from the console pasted here so I'll
wait and maybe its identical to the backtrace attached.

I use KDE 4.8 with proprietary nvidia drivers ver. 295.49
I have desktop 3d effects disabled

Might be useful to know that I have acces to real low fullscreen resolutions:
640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and the native 1280x800.
I have crafted myself a custom EDID for my lcd monitor and it works well.

My cpu is in adaptive clocking all the time but it didn't give me trouble in
the past except for linux native unreal tournament GOTY (1999)

Does it help if you start the game like this:
__GL_ExtensionStringVersion=17700 wine WolfSP.exe -opengl

If limiting the reported OpenGL extensions helps, this bug report can be closed
as invalid (or wontfix).
