Could you please retest without installing windowscodecs using winetricks?
Confirming, it also happens on a fresh new prefix, with the download from the url.

--- Comment #4 from Ian superian@gmail.com --- Yes - I don't have any other Windows programs installed on this PC, so the second backtrace is from purging WINE, deleting ~/.wine and reinstalling CameraBag Pro after checking there were no library overrides.
Same reason given for the crash.

--- Comment #5 from Ian superian@gmail.com --- CameraBag Pro downloaded today from https://nevercenter.com/camerabag/download/ (runs as a 7 day free trial if you haven't bought a registration code)

--- Comment #6 from Ian superian@gmail.com --- Doing some more experimentation, it WILL open video successfully, and the various adjustments work.
Saving / previewing video crashes, but those are other bug reports.

--- Comment #7 from LingM lingm+winebz@posteo.org --- In the title you mention "CameraBag Pro", but the URL field links to "CameraBag Photo". The checksum from comment 5 matches the "CameraBag Pro" installer.
Since download URLs often change or old versions are no longer distributed, I've created stable download links for both programs:

--- Comment #10 from Alexandre Julliard julliard@winehq.org --- Closing bugs fixed in 10.16.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58716
--- Comment #11 from Ian superian@gmail.com --- Following the fix in 10.16 (thank you), it will now open .jpeg and .png files.
New install of 10.16 and CameraBag Pro 2025.2
Without installing windowscodecs via vinetricks, before opening an image, mouseover previews of an otherwise unseen sample image are displayed.
After opening an image, it knows the size etc of what it's been asked to open, but the display of it is black. Similarly, the mouseover previews of the various effects are black.
On saving, the file appears to be all black.
After installing windowscodecs via vinetricks, it displays the iamges and mouseovers of it correctly. Saves are also correct.
Is this a new bug or a comment for when the entry for the program in AppDB appears?

Yes, please open a new bug, and attach +wincodecs log there.
