--- Comment #5 from Nikolay Sivov bunglehead@gmail.com 2010-06-25 13:37:39 --- Something really goes wrong with the way we handle references and orphaned nodes I think. It's not a first bug with freeing problems inside libxml2.

--- Comment #6 from misha-mzs misha-mzs@yandex.ru 2010-06-26 08:23:32 --- After installing wine-1.2-rc5, msxml3 trial version of the game works fine. --- Comment #7 from David Wynn wynn_david@hotmail.com 2010-09-21 06:40:58 CDT --- The issue that you had with Strange Cases is *extremely* similar to what I'm seeing in several of the games sold in the "Mystery Masters" package. "Mystery Masters" is a collection of 15 seek-and-find games sold in the USA. Turns out they were also created by Alawar. I only tried a few of the games. While the installation seemed to work fine, running the games produced messages that were almost verbatim to what was seen in comment 6 above.
Has anyone found a way to run these games?

still a bug in current wine?
I tested the demo version and it can be started normally in Wine 1.5.4 using built-in msxml3.dll. For completeness, I could reproduce the originally reported crash with Wine versions 1.2.3, 1.3.5.
What bothers me is that the launcher hits bug #30181 on my system: it crashes fairly often when some advertisement is about to pop up in the launcher. This should be considered a different issue.
