OS: Linux Mint 16 (Petra) with KDE desktop Using Wine 1.7.13 in WIN7 mode (also tried WIN XP mode)
Running Wine internet explorer from C:\program files (x86)
Internet Explorer seems to start normally, although slowly. The Winehq web page loads and appears to render correctly. If I try to access www.amazon.com (http, or https) the program experiences an error and quits. The following window is displayed:
report says: Program Error The program iexplore.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine.

If so, please attach terminal output including the backtrace with debugging symbols (your original backtrace lacks debug symbols, you have to install the debug package for Wine or compile Wine from source).
I tried to reproduce the problem in 1.7.13 and wine-1.7.48-100-ge3c6777, but the result was inconsistent. With 1.7.13 the amazon.com home page crashed 3 times out of 5 attempts (always when I placed the mouse over an item), the crash always happened in 'HTMLElement_get_parentElement' in mshtml.dll In current Wine git I can't reproduce the crash but many of the product images on the front page are missing.Hyperlinks works across the website and I am able to log in without crashing iexplore.

I can't get it crashing. I used fresh wineprefix and used some links and came back to mainpage. Also it feels that all is rendered correctly. I am not sure if it's even possible to replicate the issue that was report time.

tested with Wine 10.9
System: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS running on VMWare
Wine iexplore did not crash and page seems to render properly.
