The problem seems to be in the user interface. With the interface minimized, Reason/ Wine only uses a few percent of the CPU and everything is smooth. With the interface shown, X sucks every available CPU cycle during playback - things get worse if you scroll the interface. I do know that Wine is quite slow when it comes to graphics/ user interface stuff, but this is insane. There must be something very wrong there.
