Bug ID: 58620 Summary: moyo go studio graphics regression Product: Wine Version: 10.13 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: gerry@gavigan.me.uk Distribution: ---
A long time ago the application was a bit flaky (wine 1.x) but the graphics were OK. Over time the general performance of the application has improved but the graphics have steadily deteriorated, best illustrated by the screenshots below.

--- Comment #1 from Stian Low wineryyyyy@gmail.com --- Created attachment 79171 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=79171 Screenshot for wine-10.0 (Debian 10.0~repack-6) Debian 13 apt package
Attached is a screenshot confirming regression for wine-10.0 (Debian 10.0~repack-6) Debian 13 apt package.
10.0 looks better than 10.11 but worse than 1.7.25 appdb screenshots.
10.0 stones are proper shape because transparency is working for the them unlike 10.11 and up but they still contain striped graphic patterns resembling the worst appdb screenshots.
Also for 10.0, the translucent arm that appears while hovering the mouse over the board has glitchy graphics while the mouse is in motion which clears up when the mouse stops moving.
Commit 75b9e1722d1 Release 10.13 also reproduced the 10.13 appdb screenshot.
I installed some graphics winetricks but none have made any difference yet.

--- Comment #2 from Gerry gerry@gavigan.me.uk --- The application is free to use. Not sure about the licence. The link available on the web https://www.moyogo.com/MoyoGoStudio.zip
The zipped version I use is 300MB or so, the download is now 1.3Gb so I don't recommend it it.
If anyone want to take a look at this problem (I don't have the skills) I can supply the file

--- Comment #3 from Gerry gerry@gavigan.me.uk --- If one runs it and examines "settings" -> board
none of the settings related to the stones work, whereas those related to the board etc., do.

--- Comment #5 from Stian Low wineryyyyy@gmail.com --- Created attachment 79257 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=79257 GE-Proton10-13 with improved graphics vs vanilla wine corresponding releases
Attached is a screenshot showcasing improved graphics running via GE-Proton10-13.
All releases of proton stretching back to 10-11 seem to have similar improved graphics.
Obvious regressions still exist as vertical lines through the stones compared to appdb 1.7.25 report but overall graphics are considerably better than appdb 10.11.
GE-Proton10-13 differences may help determine a complete fix. In the meantime GE-Proton10-13 is a partial workaround.
Here's how: 1. Unzip a release: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases (such as GE-Proton10-13) 2. Run: ./GE-Proton10-13/files/bin-wow64/wine explorer
Maybe GE-Proton10-13 uses winetricks that fix it and/or graphics patches not part of vanilla wine.

--- Comment #6 from Gerry gerry@gavigan.me.uk --- I followed your instructions with Proton10-15 - the image seemed less sharp than with stock WINE which I could have lived with if I reproduced your Go stones. I am using Tumbleweed. Should I have uninstalled WINE?
