------- Additional Comments From joe@eshu.net 2006-12-09 22:01 ------- Excuse me, I used to always build wine form source, but then I thought I read that the wine project and Fedora Extras were working together and that the FE rpms were somehow legitmated. My apologies.
In any case, I wiped all the FE wine rpms and rebuilt wine 0.9.20 from source. The only thing that I omitted from my configuration was libbidi (bi-directional) language support, as I only ever use left-to-right languages.
winecfg ran OK and I simply accepted all the defaults. The topo!-3.4.2 appeared superficially to run OK, though there were many errors on the console, cf. first subsequent attachment. Post "install", though, the app failed to run, cf. second subsequent attachment.
I suppose that now it's more of a semantic point whether this is bug for the topo-3.4.2! installer under wine or the topo-3.4.2! app under wine.
Either way, I noticed on the Topo! website that there was now a (Windows) CD update to version 4.0 and then a downloadable upgrade to 4.2. The CD update depends on a previously installed version between 2.6 and 3.4.3, but it was cheap enough that I plunked down my money to give it a shot.
I'm re-opening the bug, but wouldn't recommend worrying about it until I can try again w/ Topo!-4.x.
