Summary: Regression: Flashget will not open Product: Wine Version: 0.9.4. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: wine-console AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: kimybrady@yahoo.com CC: kimybrady@yahoo.com
When I first installed wine Flashget worked fine. Then it updated to the new version and I keep getting the massage that flashget "Failed to create empty document" I checked Flashget's website it says the problem is:
A.1.Install a new version of Microsoft's Common Control 2.Install DCOM98 for Windows98 or DCOM95 for Windows95 3.Default download datebase(default.jcd) is corrupted, please use backup download database(default.bk1,default,bk2,default.bk3) recover it.
Don't think I can download and install the Common Control from Microsoft! Could you please fix this problem, otherwise my download speeds are very slow. Thanks

--- Comment #1 from Lei Zhang thestig@google.com 2007-11-13 13:47:19 --- Are you actually using wine 0.9.4 or was that a typo?
What version of flashget are you using? This is not a regression in Wine. The problem happened because you upgraded to a new version of flashget.
Have you tried installing the new version into a clean ~/.wine directory?

--- Comment #2 from Brady kimybrady@yahoo.com 2007-11-13 20:53:00 --- Sorry I'm using Wine 0.9.49 And FlashGet v1.9.6
I have tried unistall FlashGet and then reinstalled it, Had the same problem. Then I tried unistall Wine (completely remove) and reinstalled Wine reinstalled flashget, and Had the same problem.

--- Comment #3 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2007-11-13 22:19:59 --- Either move or remove ~/.wine and reinstall Flashget (new version). If the bug still occurs, then you likely have a valid bug. If it doesn't occur, something was messed up in your previous installation.

--- Comment #4 from Brady kimybrady@yahoo.com 2007-11-14 10:59:41 --- I deleted wine and reinstalled it, then installed the classic version of Flashget v.1.73 and was able to open flashget. Thanks for you help
