Summary: leading 'h' in the "Address" field of IE6 Product: Wine Version: 0.9.42. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: P2 Component: wine-binary AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: sergstesh@yahoo.com
I am building Wine in the framework of my AppsFromScratch - have been doing this since probably 0.9.30.
I am using Wine to run IE6 under Linux - through 'ies4linux'.
I've noticed that both in Wine versions 0.9.41 and 0.9.42 when IE6 starts there is 'h' letter in the "Address" field of IE6.
That is, in the field into which URLs are entered.
This makes IE6 practically unusable - it is still possible to follow link on the page IE6 starts with (e.g. Microsoft), but it is impossible to enter a URL.
Since I am building everything myself, and since I have versions
0.9.40 0.9.41 0.9.42
coexisting peacefully, I'm 100% sure the breakage occurs at 0.9.40 -> 0.9.41 - all the rest (Wine dependencies) is/are the same.
If you wish, I'll upload the tarball with my AppsFromScratch, so you'll be able to try it yourself; maybe the problem will show itself in your sandboxes.
Just download ies4linux and choose all defaults while installing it.
I am not sure which Wine component to choose, I chose 'wine-binary'.
Output of my 'uname -a':
Linux amdam2 2.6.18.8-0.5-default #1 SMP Fri Jun 22 12:17:53 UTC 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
- this is SUSE 10.2.
