Therefore, any crash in any program or library has the potential of wrecking havoc on your system. Sure it may be easier not having to sudo for tasks every now and then, but running normal programs as root is one the main reasons that spyware proliferates on windows machines.
If you will run this in a clean .wine directory, as a *user*, not root, and still get the crash, then try running a regression test to see what patch broke it between wine 0.9.40 and wine 0.9.41.
