Summary: IE6 bombs on CentOS 4.5 Product: Wine Version: 0.9.40. Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-misc AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: ricdur2@gmail.com
I've installed version 0.9.40-1 RPMs to CentOS 4.5 using "yum install wine".
I tried running winecfg, but didn't see any fonts. I was able to resolve this by installing an RPM I build using the msttcorefonts spec-file. I can see fonts now. I get STDERR messages when I select the audio tab. (This doesn't concern me at this point, but I am including it for completeness) (attached as winecfg.txt).
When I run ie6setup.exe, things seem to go okay. It's been some time since I've installed IE6, but I seem to recall options to download everything for a network install and the choice to download webfonts as well (was that IE5?).
The first time I tried running IEXPLORE.EXE, I get the "Wine Gecko Installer". I proceed with the manual install. Once that completes, the frame for "Wine Internet Explorer" comes up, then I get more STDERR messages (attached as iexplore-1.txt).
After this, I get the window for "Microsoft Internet Explorer" (which I've attached as a PNG). I'm not sure what to do at this point because when I click on the default button I get the frame, STDERR, and window all over. If I uncheck the box and select the default button, the program appears to exit. When I leave the checkbox alone and tab to the left button, the program bombs with the more STDERR messages (attached as iexplore-2.txt).
I've tried using "winetricks" to install Gecko before I run IE the first time and to install "tahoma" and "corefonts" (I'm suprised only two fonts are installed as corefonts....I recall CXOffice installing more).
