You are right, probably I did something different: I forgot to specify that I did not install *all* software from python-2.4.3.msi; I selected "Register Extensions" and "Utility Scripts" only. If you select everything (the default), pythonw.exe is installed. However, I did an installation under MS Windows right now, and choosing just "Register Extensions" and "Utility Scripts" has no effect on installation of pythonw.exe there. Also, the file selector is available under MS Windows, and typing an installation path manually has the desired effect. Sorry for giving you incomplete information!
