Hello everyone,

Secret World has been released as free to play today and I did a brief test on
wine 2.10. Unfortunately the installation fails and I can submit a crash report
to Funcom. Console output is attached.

You could try with native d3dcompiler.

Dear Jozef,

I am assuming this is done using in the winecfg - Libraries tab but which
library would I need to edit. Should I put d3dcompiler in and set this to
(native, builtin)?

Hello everyone,

I recently became maintainer of this game in the AppDB and also processed one
incoming report. Apparently the patcher does need d3dcompiler_43 native so
there is a workaround this.

Dear Jozef,

I finally figured out that I need to install this using

winetricks -q d3dcompiler_43

After I issued the command the game installer starts up without any problems.
This solves my issue and the bug can be closed.

I see. I did a fresh installation of the game in a newly created prefix and
attached some console output with the WINEDEBUG.

Still present with wine-7.5. `winetricks -q d3dcompiler_47` works around.

Adding stable download.

Sent a fixup for this
https://gitlab.winehq.org/wine/vkd3d/-/merge_requests/1571. Otherwise it seems
to compile with current vkd3d.

Needs a retest once it's merged.
