Summary: Sacred Underworld crashes when opening a lan game Product: Wine Version: CVS/GIT Platform: PC-x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: kgbricola@web.de
Created an attachment (id=15232) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=15232) Sacred Underworld crash output when opening a lan game
Sacred Underworld crashes when clicking "Multiplayer" -> "Local Network". The game version is 2.28.
System: - Fedora 9 x86_64 (2.6.25.11-97.fc9.x86_64) - NVIDIA Geforce 8800GTS, proprietary driver 173.14.09 - Firewall disabled
The game runs fine in single player mode. There is a demo version available but I think it doesn't have the multiplayer part.

--- Comment #1 from LvR o.oudin@free.fr 2008-08-04 07:54:43 --- Also appears here on Ubuntu 8.04 with wine 1.1.2. Didn't appear with previous wine version, its a regression

--- Comment #2 from Rico kgbricola@web.de 2008-08-04 10:03:28 --- Are you sure that this is a regression? I couldn't get it working with wine versions 0.9.59, 0.9.60 and 0.9.61 (I know from the appdb 0.9.60 should work). Do you have a version number from a version which worked for you (with kernel version / gpu driver version)?

I'm playing sacred gold 2.28 for several weeks/months in lan mode. It's now crashing, but I haven't play since 31/07. So if it is not a wine regression, it is another update (nvidia ?) that makes the crash.
I'll try with a previous wine version.

--- Comment #4 from LvR o.oudin@free.fr 2008-08-04 15:09:26 --- I confirm that it works very well with wine 1.0 and wine 1.1.1 It crashes with wine 1.1.2
I have an ubuntu 8.04 up-to-date with nvidia driver 169.12 (6600gt)

--- Comment #5 from Austin English austinenglish@gmail.com 2008-08-04 15:31:27 --- Then please run a regression test:

Then please run a regression test:
I'm on it :)
But it takes a long time on my machine. Do I need to do a configure and make clean each step, or just a make is enought ?

Technically, it should. But if new dependencies were added, etc. it may break.

Hello,
The policy here is one bug per issue.
This bug was closed fixed in 2008 and the fix was not reverted since. There is no way that it could be the same issue.

--- Comment #14 from zergling.man42@gmail.com --- Ah, I see, I should have actually looked at the patch; I saw iphlpapi mentioned, which is where the issue I've found lies, and assumed it was actually the same code, but it's not, even though the symptoms are identical. My apologies.
