So I stay still there as mentioned:
I unpacked the full cvs archive. New directory is created by the process: cvs-commit
Right the next step dosen't make sense: mv wine repository

Summary: DirectPlay is not registered
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: Other
URL: http://www.cyberjass.com/
OS/Version: other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Keywords: download, NoAppDBEntry
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-directx-dplay
AssignedTo: fenix(a)club-internet.fr
ReportedBy: jonathan(a)ernstfamily.ch

This small card game works but complains that directx8 is not installed. I think
this comes from the fact that our dplay.dll is not correctly registered

create the clsid entry in the registry I think.

The demo
(http://www.download.com/Fallout-demo/3000-7539_4-866542.html?tag=lst-0-1) gives
the same first four 4 fixme's , and then pops up a messagebox about an access
violation. When you change windows version to windows 98 however it starts up
just fine (except that there's a problem with the mouse that stays in the middle)
Luiz, could you change to win 98 and see if it changes anything?

Quick look at the script tells me, that this is just an updater of local CVS
repository (correct me if I'm wrong). This is indeed a great thing, but it's
clearly not targeted at beginners, and dosen't help with _creating_ local
repository, that the howto dosen't describe with the needed accuracy and verbosity.
Please, don't take my posts in bad way. I'm just desperate user that needs find
out, where things get broken (other words, what patch in Wine has broken our
app). I have never been using CVS before. The howto seemed to me targeted
exactly at users like me, so I politely complain that it dosen't help me as much
as I expected (in fact, dosen't help either until now). Maybe just a few updates
and more comments cat make it useful, but I'm not skilled enough to find the way
on my own.
Just an impression about the very process of regression testing scares me.
Therefore, the idea of studying the whole CVS thing scares me much more.

Well, thank You. If it is such a great thing, then please make it the part of howto.
Although I may try it, the functional howto is important.
