On ms-win this freeze is not there. This happens on most other sound-ocassions in the game, too. When using alsa instead of oss the problem gets worse (not the freeze time, but the sound buffer is repeating, which it isn't with oss). Changing the nice value of the wine-preloader process doesn't help either. I observed another bug: Directly at the start of the game, during the company logo, there is an adible "pip", that does not happen normaly or with oss, but with alsa. That game demo is a small (15MiB) download. There is more. Some dialogs' content is scaled and some is not. This sucks mightily on my 1600x1200 19" monitor, as it makes all the scaled fonts too small to read. Native hal.dll and ntoskrnl.dll will NEVER EVER work on Wine. And I mean it, NEVER. Why do you need those dlls anyway? In win98 mode?
