More than likely this is due to the windowing code rewrite, you can try
WINEDEBUG=+win,+window wine program.exe but I wouldnt get too high of hopes for
having this fixed soon, as the window rewrite is going to be a long process, as
the dll separation was..

ok, nothing there.. but at least it gets rid of all of the warnings and the
check for the winecfg.. Try running WINEDEBUG=+relay wine HW2.exe
and output it to a log (warning: this will be a HUGE file)..
After it crashes, use grep to find the line number of the line that says
unhandled exception, starting debugger (searching for just unhandled exception
should do). Then use tail to trim all but 500 lines before and after that line,
and attach the log here.. if you can get a winedbg backtrace, it would be
helpful too, but not necessary..

reported by me lol.. Thanks for the great bug report and testing.. Verifying..
If someone could test with the programs in comment 16 comment 17 and comment 18
it would be appreciated.

Summary: wine window disappears on certain window managers
Product: Wine
Version: CVS
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: wine-x11driver
AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org
ReportedBy: sean(a)dague.net
Environment:
Wine 20050419
Linux Mandrake 10.1
Wine built from Mandrake Cooker RPM on Mandrake 10.1
AfterStep 2.1.0 window manager
Managed = Y
Application Running Under Wine: Lotus Notes 6.5.2
After upgrading from wine 200402xx to 20050419 I found that when switching
virtual desktops the wine x11 window would disappear and appear to be lost by
AfterStep (it drops out of the window list). Messages continue to appear in
the debug log that shows the wine app to still be running (a scheduled agent is
kicking off every 10 minutes which causes wine messages).
This same thing happens with the FVWM2 window manager as well.
When using KDE3.2 on the same machine changing virtual desktops doesn't make the
window disappear, though changing with key shortcuts has the very odd behavior
of the wine window stealing focus and changing the virtual desktop back to the
one wine is on.
Again, with Wine 200402 everything worked as expected.
Any hints on possible work arounds or debug flags I can turn on to help narrow
this would be appreciated.
