just before the exceptions are thrown, it tries "to do " something with
riched20.dll. Maybe you could try run with native riched20.dll:
copy riched20.dll from a native windowspartition, or download from
www.dlldump.com (if you have a valid windowslicense), put it in
~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system and run WINEDLLOVERRIDES="riched20=n" wine
bw600.exe. What does that give?

The bug "with the flying legs" occurs in current cvs (monday 26 september)
I'll try to find out what patch caused this

It stores the data regarding these functions the registry and gets the info
regarding them from the registry
It can be found in HKLM/System/MountedDevices
