This bugzilla is for wine in general and not for wow with wine. So there is no
reason to close it. It is still there!

Actually, if I wipe out the contents of the [Software\\Blizzard
Entertainment\\Diablo II Shareware\\Video] (or something, I don't remember, I
did wipe it out), the game works fine. What seems to me is that somehow
D2VidTst.exe is getting confused and writes irrelevant data to that key (at
least with my configuration). Thanks for the help !

This is much larger problem not directly related to the volume size. BTW all
other special devices should be openable the same way (PRN, LPT, etc)

As it's been noted that performance is better through DirectX with WoW, I'd
rather see this bug closed or marked "less important" than bug #6505.
As a "user", it would strike me as more important to get the game working one
way before spending efforts getting it done another way.
Of course, if the fix is easy and somebody takes it on, wahoo - right?

0.9.23 patch
This patch was located on an external site, I'm adding it to the bug in order
to reduce the number of hoops people need to jump through to get it.
This patch only changes one line! Changing a call to the GetObjectType(hdc) to
0. This implies that the bug is further up the line.
