Arjan, can you stop using native riched20 if
you apply the patch at
http://www.winehq.com/pipermail/wine-patches/2006-March/024976.html
which claims to fix the real problem?

Summary: Failed to get a valid XVisuial ID for the window 0x50088
in RenderMonkey
Product: Wine

OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW

Hi, there are already two bugs filed for this application (bug 3773 and bug
4702), but as far as i can judge, i run into different bugs:
When run in virtual desktop (otherwise it crashes immediatley) and opening an
.rfx file i get a messagebox telling that a Dx9 window could not be opened. I
think it is related to this message in the console:
warn:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_CreateAdditionalSwapChain Failed to get a valid
XVisuial ID for the window 0x50088
Anyone an idea what's going on?

Unstripped output, only builtins, 0.9.10 Gentoo
I understood, but he gave the link. :)
Forgive me, it's my first bug here and I never had to do with backtraces.
I'm sorry, I noticed a few differences but I didn't know they were meaningless.
Is there a document about the policy to follow here?
I used the Gentoo ebuild, and I tried to not apply the default patches (where I
could) without noticing any change.

I had a closer look, and it seems the callback-fixme is not to blame. In fact,
I don't understand the fixme at all, there seem to be nothing to fix there -
maybe it's a leftover someone forgot to remove...?
The problem seems to be in the user interface. With the interface minimized,
Reason/ Wine only uses a few percent of the CPU and everything is smooth. With
the interface shown, X sucks every available CPU cycle during playback -
things get worse if you scroll the interface. I do know that Wine is quite
slow when it comes to graphics/ user interface stuff, but this is insane.
There must be something very wrong there.

It looks like a make distclean was needed in this case.

I have the same problem like the guy on the mailing list. With me it is running
the software BOINC that utilises msvcr80.dll . The software returns the same
runtime error:
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library
incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
